Food Saved Me and Saladmaster have had an incredible impact on my health and my life. I am so grateful to have found them both and want to tell everyone I know what a great investment they are in your well-being. I have always had an interest in nutrition, eating well, and staying as fit as I could to weather life’s ups and downs. After a very stressful and difficult time with family illness and loss, I knew I had internalized the agony and my body needed to get back on track. Blood tests showed that my cholesterol was high, I was showing signs of GERD, I had bouts of insomnia and I could feel the inflammation. I was questioning everything, what foods I was eating; the cookware I was using; the chemicals I used to clean my house, etc. I was determined to turn things around without medications, so my search began.
My niece discovered Katherine Lawrence’s Food Saved Me classes and my siblings, niece and I decided to attend her class on preventing heart disease. I was in awe of Katherine’s story and her ability to reverse her own disease. I was intrigued with the power of food, especially plant based and results that could be gained. From that day on, I started my journey to wellness through nutritional and changes in my lifestyle. My niece booked the first dinner. At that dinner I was intrigued by Katherine’s in-debt knowledge of nutrition and the Saladmaster cookware. I felt like I had been searching for years for healthy cookware and I finally found something that worked!! Here I was, a widow, taking care of my aging Mom, no longer cooking large meals. But I knew if I made this investment in Saladmaster even at this time in my life, I would be making an investment in our health. I was sold! I purchased the set and have had dinners with friends so that they could learn about the benefits too. I’ve changed my entire approach to cooking and healthy eating.
I now attend as many classes (plant based cooking, immune boosters, diabetes prevention and reversal, etc) as I can; I have learned so much. I eliminated dairy, increased my fiber and have embraced plant based nutritional eating. My health is back on track; I’m energetic and feel good and I am so grateful. I’ve used several of FoodSavedMe recipes and incorporated nutritional lessons, and no longer have GERD. And, by the way, I reduced my cholesterol from 260 to 186 in 9 months without medication. Wow! I am now an advocate because I know that food can save you too! My only regret is that I didn’t learn about this when I was in my 20’s.

"Pre-COVID, the #1 killer of Americans was heart disease.” That one sentence sealed the deal. It was my first Saladmaster presentation and what the consultant didn’t know was that less than a month prior I had been diagnosed with congestive heart failure. The next day at four o’clock in the afternoon I picked up the phone and dialed a number that has changed my life. I contacted the consultant and committed to the business and the cookware. To say that Food Saved Me has changed my life is an understatement. I appreciate the owner’s benefits, nutrition classes, recipes, and constant encouragement. When I first joined Saladmaster and Food Saved Me I was taking twelve pills a day to maintain my health. Today I am taking seven. I am proud of the progress I have made and I know that it would not be possible without Saladmaster and Food Saved Me.
I love to cook. It has been hard for me to cook smaller meals (for one or two) after cooking family sized meals for so long. Once I became an ‘empty nester’, I found myself wasting more money and food when I cooked.
I thought it would be cheaper to pull into a drive-thru or pick something up, but found it only dug deeper into my pocket and added more pounds than I care to have.
It has been suggested that if I “eat a plant-based diet and increase your physical activity”, many of my health issues would be resolved. I invested in SaladMaster getting serious about cleaning up my eating and improving my health.
I have attended several of the classes to get ideas, recipes and inspiration. Many of the recipes have turned out to be very tasty. The vegan recipes have been surprisingly delicious. The SM machine cuts my prep time down to nothing. I’m learning to cook in batches and freeze in zip-lock bags. This allows me to have food on hand, that’s ready to heat and serve in a matter of minutes. I am now cooking more and eating out less. I’m enjoying my first love again…cooking.
